NEW YORK—Modo has announced it is one of the first companies to officially support HRH The Prince of Wales and the Sustainable Markets Initiative’s Terra Carta Charter. The Charter, launched in January 2021, lays out an ambitious roadmap for businesses toward a sustainable future. HRH The Prince of Wales and the Sustainable Markets Initiative are gathering a global “coalition of the willing,” who share a vision and will commit to the Charter’s 10-point action plan, which aims to kickstart bold and imaginative action across the next decade.

According to the Sustainable Markets Initiative, the Terra Carta Charter, which takes its name from the Magna Carta, “aims to reunite people and planet, by giving fundamental rights and value to Nature, ensuring a lasting impact and tangible legacy for this generation.” Other supporters include Bank of America, AstraZeneca, Unilever, Wells Fargo, BP and more. The full charter is available for download online.

HRH The Prince of Wales said, “The Terra Carta offers the basis of a recovery plan that puts Nature, People and Planet at the heart of global value creation – one that will harness the precious, irreplaceable power of Nature combined with the transformative innovation and resources of the private sector.”

Alessandro Lanaro, chief executive of Modo, said, “We are proud to join HRH The Prince of Wales’ Terra Carta Charter. We share the belief that the private sector will be the driving force of change for a sustainable future, and we look forward to expanding our contributions. Our effort to constantly innovate our products’ materials—including recycled ocean plastic waste, metals, and plastics as well as bio based solutions and responsible packaging is a first impactful step within this important commitment. Being part of such a prestigious coalition of the willing makes us extremely optimistic for the future that we can create together.”
