NEW YORK—Rock4Sight 2023 will be back at the Hard Rock Café to celebrate the optical industry and raise funds for ECN Purpose, a 501c3 charity dedicated to providing both eye health education and connection to vision care to the underserved. The party begins on Saturday, March 18 at 8:30 pm at the Hard Rock Café in Times Square, New York City. As in the past, this will be a fun night of music, dancing, camaraderie and industry fellowship.

Aspasia Shappet, CEO and president of ECN Purpose, said, “ECN Purpose is thrilled to be the beneficiary charity of the Rock4Sight fundraiser for the second year. We value the ongoing support from the philanthropic sponsors and good-hearted optical community. John Alofs and Bob Stein have been wonderful industry proponents for our charity and the event.

“The net proceeds from the 2022 event resulted in the establishment of our first Mobile Eye Health Unit program. We strive to be a perpetual charity with the mission to advocate for public education regarding eye health and help coordinate eye screening and exams for the underserved population in the United States. In 2023, we hope to exceed the funds raised last year."

This year’s benefit concert will feature a new twist. Five tribute bands will each perform a set of songs that pay tribute to a specific artist or band featuring a combination of Blues, 60s, Soul/Funk, 70s and Classic Rock. You have to attend to find out which bands will be tributed/showcased. Organizers promise the event will have guests singing along to the greatest hits of each one.

Shappet said, “I am so excited to again have Denise Brown Mogil by our side as one our charity's biggest supporters and to hear the amazingly talented musicians that will again generously be performing this year with tributes to five iconic bands. Several of these bands are my personal favorites—you need to join us at the NYC Hard Rock Café on Broadway in Time Square to hear many classic hits.”

This year, National Vision is the Diamond, Presenting Sponsor. Organizers wish to offer their deep appreciation to NVI for again taking the lead in sponsorship. Both co-chairpersons of the event, Bob Stein of Stein Family Charity and  John Alofs of Eyewear by R.O.I. want to personally thank all the sponsors that have made this event a lynch pin celebration on the Saturday of Vision Expo East for many years. Long-standing supporters of this fun, philanthropic event have been joined by a variety of new sponsors as well.

“COVID held us back for a couple of years, but this will be a full-on celebration of the resilience of our industry and the great folks that it contains,” said Stein.
