SAN DIEGO—Eyes On Eyecare has announced that registration is now open for Eyes On Dry Eye. The two-day virtual event is scheduled for April 23-24 and will equip optometrists and other eyecare professionals with eight hours of free continuing education, live talks with leading experts in dry eye diagnosis and management, virtual vendor booths, a chance to win $5,000 in prizes, and what organizers describe as "a hefty dose of the fun and inspiration Eyes On event attendees have come to expect."

Eyes On Dry Eye’s eight hours of free, COPE-approved continuing education will be delivered by leading experts in dry eye disease management including Whitney Hauser, OD, FAAO; Paul Karpecki, OD, FAAO; Melissa Barnett, OD, FAAO, FSLS, FBCLA; Eric Donnenfeld, MD; and more. In addition to the best-in-class, educational program, the virtual event will feature five lectures in the Implementation Track as well as a series of informal talks in the Exhibit Hall with industry leaders. Damon Dierker, OD, FAAO and Ahmad Fahmy, OD, FAAO, Dipl, ABO, Eyes On Dry Eye co-program chairs and event co-founders, designed the educational program in partnership with the Eyes On Eyecare team and will moderate the live education tracks.

In between the real-time lectures with live Q&A, attendees can network with fellow optometrists and ophthalmologists by using the live group chat, as well as explore the latest diagnostics and treatments within the show’s 16+ Exhibit Hall booths. The event’s sponsors and vendors include the top companies paving the way in dry eye diagnostics, treatments, therapeutics, and more. Representatives from these organizations will be showcasing their latest offerings and will be available to chat live with attendees within their bespoke, custom-branded booths.

Attendees will also be able to win $5,000 in prizes via raffles, giveaways, and a special Instagram video contest (The @eyesoneyecare.optometry Instagram account has details for entry). They can also look forward to a one-of-a-kind piece of dry eye “edutainment” at the Dry Eye Game Show on April 24, which will feature Laura Periman, MD; Jacob Lang, OD, FAAO; and a third special guest playing trivia live for $500 to charity.

“The more we learn about dry eye, the more it becomes clear that eyecare professionals have the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of our patients and the success of our practices,” said Matt Geller, OD and CEO of CovalentCreative, the parent company of Eyes On Eyecare. “With virtual events, it’s easier than ever—not to mention more cost-effective—to learn from dry eye experts and share your own knowledge with your fellow practitioners. We’re looking forward to hosting this event and making dry eye education accessible to all ECPs, from students to experienced doctors.”

The Eyes On Dry Eye virtual event, with nearly 2,000 attendees, was first held in August 2020 under the Everything Dry Eye name. CovalentCreative, which produced the 2020 event, acquired the Everything Dry Eye event in January 2021, as VMAIL reported. Everything Dry Eye was co-created by Drs. Dierker and Fahmy, who now serve as program chairs for Eyes On Dry Eye. CovalentCreative will bring its technical expertise and industry-leading virtual event management capability to this rebranded event.
