GREEN BAY, Wis.—Shopko Optical, a provider of eyecare services across the Midwest for more than 40 years, announced the appointment of Kirk Lauterback to the newly created role of chief experience officer. “I am pleased to appoint Kirk to this new position,” said Russ Steinhorst, Shopko Optical CEO. “Kirk’s passion for Shopko Optical along with his exceptional industry knowledge will build upon our continued commitment to the delivery of a best-in-class patient experience.” Lauterback began his Shopko Optical career as an optician in 1993 and has since served in numerous store, regional and corporate leadership roles, most recently as chief operations officer.

“I am thrilled to accept this new role,” said Lauterback. “I look forward to the opportunity to support a positive and consistent patient and customer experience by collaborating cross-functionally to influence product and service offerings, teammate training, new center integration, community outreach and internal systems and processes.”

Lauterback completed his opticianry program and apprenticeship at Northern Virginia Community College. He is American Board of Optician Certified (ABOC), is a member of the Opticians Association of America (OAA) and a fellow of the National Academy of Opticianry (NAO). In addition, he also volunteers with the Volunteer Optometric Services to Humanity (VOSH), Special Olympics and Kids in Focus through the Lions Club.
