HAUPPAUGE, N.Y.—ClearVision Optical and the Optical Women’s Association (OWA) have jointly announced the winners of the inaugural ClearVision-Adira grant program. This initiative is designed to support personal and professional development for women in the optical industry, according to the announcement. Danielle D. Crull, owner and master optician, A Child’s Eyes, and Michelle Kelley, director of ophthalmic services and materials, Southern College of Optometry, have been selected as winners of the first round of grants.

The ClearVision-Adira grant program was launched to empower women in the optical industry by providing financial support to help them achieve their professional and personal goals, according to the company. The selection process included essay submissions and voting by OWA members.

“This collaboration between ClearVision and the OWA underscores our deep-rooted commitment to supporting women in the optical industry,” said David Friedfeld, co-owner and president of ClearVision. “We look forward to the positive impact these grants will have on the careers of Danielle and Michelle.”

“The grant program embodies the OWA’s mission to enhance and promote the leadership role of women in the optical industry through networking, education, and peer support,” added Lorie Lippiatt, OD, president of the OWA. “By recognizing the achievements of Danielle and Michelle in collaboration with ClearVision, we are celebrating their contributions to the industry and providing them with opportunities to further their professional growth.”

According to the company, the ClearVision-Adira grant program will continue with a second round later this year, awarding three additional grants. Submissions for the second round will start in July and close in August, and winners will be announced following voting. OWA expects to provide more information soon to members about the details and deadlines for the next round of submissions, according to the group.
