FOOTHILL RANCH. Calif.—Oakley has reopened the doors of one of its first ever retail stores based at the brand’s headquarters, Oakley One Icon in Foothill Ranch, California. The brand’s reimagined flagship location is a historic destination that showcases Oakley’s DNA through a museum of celebrated products that nod to monumental moments in the brand’s history. The reimagined store will also feature an extensive selection of best-selling eyewear as well as apparel, footwear, accessories and more.

Oakley was founded in 1975. One Icon, built in 1997, serves as the hub for innovation where Oakley designers, employees and athletes come together to master the art of performance technology. Looking forward to the brand’s 50th anniversary in 2025, the new flagship is the first step in a new direction for the brand. Doors officially opened on Wednesday, April 26, 2023.

The flagship store at One Icon includes an all-new layout, updated lighting, and design features inspired by Oakley sport. The reimagined flagship provides a more welcoming and positive experience while driving optimum flow and functionality between the flagship and museum, which is now located in One Icon’s lobby. The product museum offers visitors the chance to celebrate the brand’s historic moments and iconic product innovations including Prizm Lens Technology, RX designs, historic eyewear silhouettes and more.

Brian Takumi, vice president of soul and creative, said, “Understanding our past is crucial in inspiring our future. Oakley's mysterious dystopian 90s aesthetic, while iconic, was born out of a survivalist mentality, something we now face daily. We have the power to create a more positive and hopeful vision of the future, even in the face of adversity. Our vision takes its first step with the reimagined flagship store at One Icon, a space that points to the metamodern ethos of individuality, inclusivity and positivity, encouraging people to come together and welcome them into the brand.”
