Filip Chavatte.

PLAINVILLE, Mass.—Hilco Vision has announced a leadership transition within its Belgium and the Netherlands-based ophthalmic subsidiary Simovision. Effective Aug. 1, 2022, Filip Chavatte is managing director of Simovision, taking on the role from retiring founder Marc Simonet. Chavatte brings 25 years of health care experience at companies including Novartis, GE Healthcare, Baxter, Shire and J&J. His broad general management experience includes sales leadership, marketing, planning, account management, KOL partnerships and launching new products. Simonet will stay on in a strategic advisory capacity, supporting Hilco Vision’s expansion of the innovation and service driven model that has characterized Simovision to this point.

Chavatte said, “I am honored to be joining Simovision which has a reputation for innovation and service—trusted by hospitals, private clinics and surgeons alike. Now as part of Hilco Vision I am excited by the runway we have in front of us to continue to innovate and impress our customers and suppliers, while developing the markets in which we operate.”

Chavatte will report to Ross Brownlee, CEO of Hilco Vision. Brownlee said, “We look forward to the impact Filip can have on our growing ophthalmic business. His business acumen, results track record, and people skills promise a very strong future for the company as we develop our ophthalmic capabilities and reach in Europe.”
