SABAE, Japan—Eyewear manufacturer Charmant Group has announced the appointment of Koji Horikawa to the role of president and CEO. Previously executive managing director, Horikawa was approved as the new president and chief executive officer by the shareholder meeting on February 29, 2024. Horikawa is the son of Kaoru Horikawa, founder of Charmant Group. Horikawa began his career in Charmant’s Japanese domestic division 34 years ago, and played a pivotal role in overseeing Chinese manufacturing divisions and product planning while working in China and Hong Kong.

He has served as executive managing director since 2010, responsible for both Japanese and Chinese manufacturing units. Since 2019, he has also taken on the role of COO, overseeing the domestic business division. In a statement, Charmant Group said, “His significant expertise within our company positions him well to make substantial contributions in his new role and in Charmant Group.”
