DALLAS—The Optical Women’s Association (OWA) has announced the appointment of Tiara Claxton to its board of directors. Claxton, western regional sales manager of luxury brands at Safilo, will also serve as co-chair of the OWA’s program committee.

According to the organization, Claxton joined the OWA more than two years ago and has shown her commitment to the organization by volunteering at numerous events, serving as an active member of the communications committee, writing numerous articles for Association newsletters, and by serving on the membership committee. “She enjoys and succeeds at recruiting new members, especially ECPs,” said the Association.

“I’ve had the pleasure of working with Tiara on the communications committee. When she agreed to step up to the board level, I couldn’t have been happier. She is a dynamic, ‘get-her-done’ woman, who I’m thrilled to have on the OWA board,” said Christie Walker, OWA president.

Said Claxton, “I am thankful to be a part of such an amazing group of woman who know it's not easy to get where you want to go...but with the support and guidance of others, great things can happen!”

Claxton will celebrate her eighteenth year with Safilo USA this November.
