Jan Rosenberg.

LINZ, Austria—Jan Rosenberg is the new CEO of Silhouette International. He is now managing the family-owned company, together with Thomas Windischbauer, COO/CFO, the company said in an announcement.

Rosenberg brings a significant background in international brands and sales, as well as many years of experience from a diverse range of leading companies, the company noted. He was a member of the board at Triumph International and CEO of the CBR Fashion Group. As the new CEO of Silhouette International, he assumes immediate responsibility of marketing, sales, product development, design and human resources.

Founded by Anneliese and Arnold Schmied in 1964, with the vision that eyeglasses are an accessory, Silhouette focuses on premium eyewear with its own brands—Silhouette and neubau eyewear—and with the licensed brand adidas Sport eyewear. In 1999, Silhouette introduced Titan Minimal Art eyewear, with no frames, screws or hinges, weighing only 1.8 grams.

Silhouette’s global turnover is approximately €150 million a year, generated in more than 100 countries, with exports at 95 percent of that total. The company is still owned 100 percent by the Schmied family, the announcement said.
