BETHPAGE, N.Y.—Eyewear Designs Ltd. (EDL) has announced that it has entered into an agreement for the U.S. distribution of optical, sunwear and readers under the Moleskine brand. The release of the first Moleskine Eyewear collection in the U.S. is slated for September 2018. “Eyewear is a natural addition to the Moleskine ecosystem of analogue and digital journaling tools that support everyday life on the move,” said Andrea Gluck, Co-CEO of Eyewear Designs. “Long before people were pecking out their thoughts on typewriters, let alone keyboards, they were quietly scribbling them onto paper. Moleskine’s colorful, modern take on the classic notebook has made journaling current and cool. Moleskine eyewear evokes that combination of old and new in its styling and with the use of sleek and thin materials. It’s modern with a classic twist.”

The new collection launches with 18 optical styles followed by a Readers collection in November. A selection of accessories and cases featuring the “in case of loss” notice completes the collection.

The Moleskine brand was created in 1997, reinvigorating the legendary notebook used by artists and thinkers. Today, Moleskine creates a variety of paper objects as well as smart notebooks and apps, bags, books, travel and digital device accessories and writing tools, the company stated.

Eyewear Designs (EDL) is a privately held company wholly owned by co-CEOs Andrea Gluck and Dean Warner. EDL develops and distributes a brand portfolio that includes the internationally renowned licensed brands Moleskine, Perry Ellis, New Balance, Elizabeth Arden, Jill Stuart, Tony Hawk and Hello Kitty.
