Product: RO S68 Solitaire Ace
Top Line: Rochester Optical is launching the RO S68 Solitaire Ace, a goggle designed for Epson Moverio BT-200. The RO Solitaire Ace is available in an all-black version for a fully immersive virtual reality experience, or in clear for a multitude of enterprise applications. Rochester Optical designed the Solitaire Ace to enhance the user experience for everyone from the creative drone flyer or advanced gamer to the scientist in a pharmaceutical facility.
Close Up: Rochester Optical already offers augmented reality (AR) sun shields and virtual reality (VR) blackout shields for the Epson Moverio BT-200, but the new Solitaire Ace takes things to the next level.
“On the consumer side, the Moverio’s impressive full-color, wide-panel display cannot be beat,” said Patrick Ho, CEO of Rochester Optical. “The virtual reality and fully immersive entertainment applications are virtually endless, so we designed the Solitaire to further enhance the user experience.”
Ho noted that the blackout, fully immersive VR version is just one application. The Epson Moverio BT-200 is also popular in the enterprise space, allowing workers to have hands-free access to critical data. “By making the Solitaire Ace available in clear, we solve user experience problems in industry as well,” explains Ho. “The goggle design helps to distribute the Epson’s weight for comfort and keeps the device secure; and with medical-grade silicone foam, the seal is appropriate for a multitude of use-cases.”
The Solitaire Ace is also compatible with Rochester Optical’s RO BT-200 prescription frame insert. Wearing Rochester Optical’s patented Smart GOLD Lenses (also available for Google Glass, Vuzix M100, Recon Jet and Sony SmartEyeglass) minimizes eye strain and eye fatigue, allowing smart glasses to be comfortably worn for extended periods of time. By creating an additional, optimized optical center where the HUD is viewed and compensating to balance binocular vision, Smart GOLD eliminates prismatic effect and off axis aberrations, providing continuous, comfortable visual acuity.

CLX System Releases ‘My CL Reorder’ to Increase Capture Rate and Patient Loyalty

Product: My CL Reorder
Top Line: CLX, a contact lens ordering, managing and marketing system, is introducing enhanced functionality designed to auto e-mail and text patients due to reorder contacts.
Close Up: “Too many patients are reordering contact lenses from an online retailer or superstore, and not from their personal OD. With My CL Reorder, our customers are able to remind patients when it is time to reorder and provide a fast, secure on-line reorder option. This technology is unique in helping ECP’s compete in today’s cluttered marketplace,” said Jeremy Bono, CLX product manager.
My CL Reorder identifies patients due to reorder contact lenses and automatically sends emails or texts prompting them with a link to reorder their prescription contact lenses. Credit card payments are deposited in the practice bank account, and the order is forwarded directly to a preferred practice distributor who then ships the refill directly to the patients.
The CLX system is capable of more than capturing reorder business, according to Bono. “Efficient ordering, tracking, and reporting features of CLX also help our customers better understand, manage and grow the contact lens side of their business,” he noted.
Vital Stats: CLX System is a cloud-based management platform specifically designed to improve the efficiency and accuracy of contact lens administration as well as to provide valuable data and robust metrics reporting.
