Costa’s New Optical Eyeglass Collection Is Built for Adventure

Quick Take: Costa will be offering its first optical frame collection, Costa Optical, featuring the brand’s signature performance qualities such as durable materials, stylish designs at a variety of price points and high quality construction.
Wearer: This collection speaks to people who love adventure and live for the outdoors.
Specifics: This initial collection will feature 36 SKUs in five distinct collections that are built for everyday activities and adventures. “Our new optical collection is a natural extension of our very successful premium sunglass range and marks a significant commitment to the optical market. We are thrilled to have more tools to offer ECPs to help them build their business with this fast growing brand,” said Holly Rush, CEO of Costa.
Selling Points: The collection will be available in lightweight titanium, bio-based nylon with tri-fused colors and handcrafted acetate. All of Costa Optical’s styles offer 3D topographic “grip zone” patterns in the nose pads and temple tips to reduce slippage. The refined hypoallergenic surface materials not only provide comfort but reduce wearer fatigue.
Additionally, wire core temples and custom-engineered hinges allow for a perfect fit and provide comfort, according to the company. In keeping with Costa’s water heritage, the collections were named after notable underwater, oceanic formations such as Bimini Road, Seamount, Ocean Ridge, Pacific Rise and Mariana Trench.

Marchon Debuts New Columbia Eyewear Collection

Black Ridge is a modern navigator frame that has an active look and fit to match that lifestyle. Trail Warrior features a modern rectangle shape that is “essential both on and off the trails” and is also lightweight and durable.
In optical, C3008 sports a metal frame front with a thin profile complemented by sleek injected temples that create a sophisticated look. C5000 is designed for those who are tough on their frames. Featuring a Flexon memory bridge this style is ultra-light and flexible. C8001 is a modern rectangular frame with acetate temples that feature a textured pattern. C8003 has a bold silhouette enhanced by hand-carved acetate.

Optima Launches Vitaris Single Vision HEV Blue Light Lenses at Vision Expo West


Quick Take: Optima is launching Vitaris single vision HEV (high energy visible) blue light protective lenses at International Vision Expo West. Vitaris finished lenses are available in 1.60 and 1.74 indexes, with 1.67 coming in late 2016. ClearVision Optical Expands Aspire Eyewear, Launches the Aspire Custom Collection
