New York Eye Debuts New Ernest Hemingway Styles

More Images
Quick Take:
New York Eye has released new styles in to the Ernest Hemingway Collection.
Specifics: This debut, the second release of styles for this collection launched in January 2011, includes 15 new vintage-inspired ophthalmic styles, featuring retro round metals, torts and translucent colors, as well as cat eyes and 1950s-inspired looks.
Selling Points: “The Ernest Hemingway collection has a broad appeal as it targets three generations of consumers,” said Arthur Jankolovits, president of New York Eye. “That includes the younger generation, who is drawn to the hip, retro styling; today’s more youthful but mature generation who is increasingly style conscious; and the older customer who has longed for years for a redux of comfortable, larger, and deeper shapes.” One of the most notable features of this release is that it greatly increases the number of metal frames available in the collection from two to six. Metal shapes include oversized rounds and ovals plus “Mad Men” worthy, 50s-inspired plastic/metal combinations. Another key ingredient to the new extension is the addition of crystal plastic colors such as blue, green, yellow, clear crystal, and pink.
