Oscar time is here again, and it is not without debate. Many feel that films like “She Said,” “The Woman King” and “Nope” were overlooked, while films like “Avatar” and “Maverick” were more hype than intellect. But no matter where your allegiance lies this year, the Oscars always prove to be a reflection of the times we are living in. VMAIL Weekend did a quick poll of some optical industry movie fans and here are their predictions for Best Picture Oscar winners.

NEW YORK—A diverse and dynamic mix of speakers, from outside and from within the eyecare/eyewear field will be sharing insights and tactics for business and professional leaders at the VM Leadership Summit, “Insight, Unseen: How Leaders Uncover, Design and Scale Innovation” in New York on March 15. The daylong event for senior decision makers and influencers from throughout the optical industry and eyecare professions will be held at The Times Center, prior to the start of Vision Expo East.

Rock4Sight 2023 to Feature Five Tribute Bands in Benefit Concert for ECN Purpose
NEW YORK—Rock4Sight 2023 will be back at the Hard Rock Café to celebrate the optical industry and raise funds for ECN Purpose, a 501c3 charity dedicated to providing both eye health education and connection to vision care to the underserved. The party begins on Saturday, March 18 at 8:30 pm at the Hard Rock Café in Times Square, New York City. As in the past, this will be a fun night of music, dancing, camaraderie and industry fellowship.
