This year’s flu season is shaping up to be much more serious than your usual aches and pains. States like Ohio, New Jersey and California have been hit hard. The strain of this year’s virus, known as A (H3N2), is not responding as well to the flu vaccine as health officials had hoped. Earlier this week, health experts met at the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) to provide an update on the current flu season. One doctor at the meeting described this year’s flu as “very active” and said “there are early signs that the season may be severe.” What can you do to stem the flu tide in your eyecare practice or optical business? MUNICH, Germany—Opti 2018, held at Fairground Munich, boasted 28,430 visitors and 668 exhibitors as the show continues to expand. This year, in addition to the traditional four trade show halls C1 to C4, Hall B4 was also used. Walking the show floor, the five halls that encompassed opti 2018, from Friday, Jan. 12 to Sunday, Jan. 14, 2018 were buzzing with foot traffic as attendees sought out many of the new experiences that this year’s show had to offer.
