Optical Gears Up for World Sight Day Challenge on Oct. 12

DENVER—Global eye health and vision care are more important than ever in light of recent natural disasters including major hurricanes, earthquakes, tsunamis and their aftermath. As people deal with these and other health crises, leading North American optometric companies, networks, schools and practices are once again joining a coalition led by Optometry Giving Sight in support of World Sight Day (October 12, 2017) and the World Sight Day Challenge, which runs through October, according to an announcement from Optometry Giving Sight. ‘Runnin’ Down a Dream’

This week’s #WeShareIt is dedicated to the beloved Tom Petty, who passed away on Oct. 2 of cardiac arrest. Petty first rose to fame with his band Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers in the late 70s and then went on to pursue a solo career. In addition to his family, the musician left behind a legacy of hits such as “American Girl,” “Free Fallin’,” “Runnin’ Down a Dream” and many more. The man and his music will be missed.
