NEW YORK—On June 30, the official host of WorldPride 2019, honored the 50th anniversary of the Stonewall Uprising with NYC Pride. This year, Safilo’s Polaroid Eyewear was a sponsor of NYC Pride, which involved the brand taking part in a number of pride related activities throughout the month of June, all culminating in Polaroid’s very own float making its way along the Pride March route.

As part of the campaign, Polaroid rolled out their new inclusive brand message SEE BEYOND, and participated in Pride Island, PrideFest, and the official NYC Pride March. In addition, the brand introduced its first ever Pride themed social media campaign. Shot by Justin J Wee, the Polaroid Pride campaign featured eight New York-based LGBTQIA+ influencers wearing the brand’s newest sunglasses in the colors of the rainbow.

Polaroid also took part in Pride For All, Bloomingdale’s pop-up shop curated by Out magazine editor-in-chief Phillip Picardi, who stocked the shop with inclusive brands, including Polaroid’s PLD2053/S polarized sunglasses, which come in all colors of the rainbow.

Victoria Hallberg, chief marketing officer of Safilo North America, said, “As an authentic and inclusive brand, Polaroid Eyewear is extremely proud to sponsor 2019 NYC Pride, the first WorldPride event to be hosted in the U.S. We are beyond excited to begin our corporate partnership in such a special year—one that commemorates the 50th anniversary of the Stonewall Uprising—and do our part to support the LGBTQI community through meaningful activations.”
