Louisiana State University beat Clemson University 42—25 in Monday's national championship game played at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans. After a long, rigorous schedule of games going back to late August, these two teams finished as the No. 1 and 2 ranked teams. LSU was led by its Heisman Trophy winning quarterback Joe Burrow (or Joe Burreaux), while the Clemson team was led by its standout quarterback Trevor Lawrence (who has never lost a college football game) and star running back Travis Etienne (averaging about 8 yards per carry).
