BRONX, N.Y.—Metro Optics, a community-based business serving the Bronx and beyond for over 39 years, celebrated the launch of a new addition to its extensive eyewear selection: the expanded Coco and Breezy collection—distributed by Eastern States Eyewear—which was highlighted at a special event on Oct. 26 at the Flagship Metro Optics in Throggs Neck.

Marketing and community relations manager, Sara Bonizio, as well as co-owner of Metro Optics, John Bonizio, gave attendees a warm welcome explaining how they got in touch with the sister duo and why they chose to host the event in the Bronx. Coco and Breezy also took a moment and gave guests a brief history on how they got started, thanked their team members and spoke about their upcoming optical collection. Eastern States Eyewear’s Jason and Paul Shyer were also in attendance, mingling with guests throughout the night.

The launch event featured a live DJ set by the twin sisters, in addition to a performance by the Pioneers of Hip Hop, Grandmaster Caz and Grandmaster Melle Mel, who are longtime eyecare patients of Metro Optics and Cazal enthusiasts. Attendees sang-along to the duos’ hits such as, “The Message,” and “Rapper’s Delight.”

The Coco and Breezy expanded launch event also promoted local businesses, with Havana Café a local restaurant providing the catering and Chef John Denizard of Whoopies Miniature Dessert Co. serving custom-made, spec-tacular eyewear cookies for attendees to indulge.
