Greg Hare.
RANCHO CORDOVA, Calif.—VSP Vision has promoted Greg Hare to president of Visionworks, according to an announcement today. Reporting to Pete Bridgman, VSP Vision’s chief network officer, Hare is responsible for Visionworks’ more than 700 eyecare locations that are located in nearly 40 states and the District of Columbia, the announcement noted. Hare most recently served as interim president of Visionworks, a role he had taken on early this year. “From optical retail strategy and operations to managed vision care, philanthropy and more, Greg has more than two decades of experience and has served Visionworks over the past four years with unique expertise, passion and integrity,” Bridgman said.

“He is the right leader to carry Visionworks forward and ensure we continue to meet the needs of clients and members looking for a retail eyecare experience, underscored by the professional care of VSP network doctors.”

Following VSP Visions’ leadership organization changes announced in December, as VMAIL reported, Hare took over as interim president of Visionworks, and previously was the organization’s chief customer officer. He joined Visionworks in 2018 as senior vice president of strategy and transformation.

Prior to that, Hare held several leadership positions with Luxottica. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration from Miami University’s Farmer School of Business.

“It’s an honor to lead Visionworks and I’m energized by our team’s work to simplify eyecare for our customers,” Hare said. “Together, we will continue to grow and deliver on our purpose to empower everyone to see the world they love, in a surprisingly simple way.”
