Product: Dom Vetro’s full coverage face shields.
Top Line: Dom Vetro’s Culver City factory is now producing full-coverage face shields to help protect essential workers during the COVID-19 crisis.
Close Up: The shield is sold in a kit which includes a translucent sheet of fog-free, high-clairty plastic; two industrial-strength fasteners that can attach the plastic to any pair of glasses, sunglasses, safety glasses or goggles; and a specialty cleaning cloth. The shield fits comfortably over both medical and N95 masks and provides full coverage of the eyes, nose and mouth without affecting central or peripheral vision. The Shield is reusable and can be washed with soap and water.
Vital Stats: Shield kits are available for purchase on the Dom Vetro website. Customers can have messages permanently etched onto their shields, or shields they’re donating, for an additional cost.
Dom Vetro’s founder, Ashely Bezamat said, “in light of current events, we sought to find a way to use our factory and expertise to help protect those on the frontlines. The Shield is compatible with anyone’s existing eyewear and made from locally-sourced materials to keep our production time as short as possible. Plus, it’s reusable, making it far less wasteful than some of the other options currently out there. We hope that, using what limited resources we have as an independent manufacturer, we can help those who are risking their lives to help us. We are also actively seeking donations to enable us to distribute Shields free of charge to medical personnel.”
