Latest News Ziemer USA Partners With ASCRS for National Sight Week By Staff Monday, October 21, 2019 12:15 AM ALTON, Ill.—The American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery (ASCRS) Foundation will celebrate its 4th annual National Sight Week from Oct. 20 to 26. During this weeklong celebration of volunteerism, members of the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery (ASCRS) Foundation’s Operation Sight Network are encouraged to contribute charitable cataract surgeries within their communities. The ASCRS Foundation matches disadvantaged, eligible patients with volunteer surgeons, and provides a financial stipend for each surgery completed. Ziemer USA is assisting by donating the procedural packs needed to complete the cataract surgeries to the ophthalmology practices using the Ziemer Femtosecond Laser.“This is a wonderful opportunity to partner with our doctors and their staffs to help those in need,” said David Bragg, president of Ziemer USA. “By teaming up with the ASCRS Foundation and the doctors who volunteer, many people who may never have the opportunity for cataract surgery are receiving the gift of better vision.” Information on becoming an Operation Sight Volunteer is available on the ASCRS foundation website.
