RANCHO CORDOVA, Calif.—The board of directors at VSP Global has named Mary Anne C. Murphy, OD, chair of the board for a two-year term. Dr. Murphy previously served as the vice chair and has been on VSP Global’s board for the past six years. She has been in private practice for nearly two decades and is the CEO and founder of Front Range Eye Associates in Broomfield, Colo. “We’re pleased to have Dr. Murphy at the helm of our board of directors,” said Gordon Jennings, OD, immediate past chair.

“Her experience, passion and dedication will help ensure we continue fulfilling our unique purpose and meeting the needs of network doctors, clients and members,” Jennings said.

“It’s an honor to serve in this role,” said Dr. Murphy. “I look forward to helping guide and support the organization’s important work to provide greater vision, health and opportunities to our diverse stakeholders.”

Originally from Northwest Indiana, Dr. Murphy went to college at the United States Air Force Academy in Colorado and majored in physics. She then completed her undergraduate degree and an additional four years of optometric doctoral training at the University of California, Berkeley.

Dr. Murphy completed her specialty health care training in ocular disease at Bascom Palmer Eye Institute in Miami, Fla. and received advanced training in primary care and dry eye at Lovelace Eye Hospital in Albuquerque, N.M. She is also an active member of the Colorado Optometric Association and the American Optometric Association.
