RANCHO CORDOVA, Calif.—VSP Global recently partnered with NBA team the Sacramento Kings to help raise awareness of how clear vision can help kids see their full potential. VSP teamed up with the Sacramento Kings to support their long-time community partner, Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Greater Sacramento area. To empower each of the enrolled children to see every possibility, VSP donated 160 Eyes of Hope gift certificates that provide access to a free comprehensive eye exam and, if needed, prescription eyewear through a VSP network eye doctor. To date, VSP Eyes of Hope initiatives have provided access to no-cost eyecare and eyewear for more than 3.3 million people in need.

To help engage all families beyond Big Brothers Big Sisters on the importance of annual eye exams, VSP co-launched with the Sacramento Kings the “See Your Potential” youth art contest. Children ages 8 to 18 entered for a chance to win new sunglasses and Kings gear by creating artwork that represents what they see for their futures. Several winning entries were awarded and are posted, along with a special video, here.
