Ceroni is joining Smith after spending than 13 years in the eyewear industry across wholesale and retail, most recently as VP of international strategy and business development at Costa Del Mar. As his new role of general manager at Smith, Ceroni will lead the business across all commercial channels out of its Portland headquarters. He will report to Angelo Trocchia, CEO of Safilo Group.Trocchia said, “We welcome Francesco who is a highly experienced professional in the industry, with strong entrepreneurial skills and a successful background. As we focus on executing our new business plan, we see tremendous opportunities to further develop our own core brands and I am confident that Smith will go from strength to strength under Francesco’s leadership.”In addition, Smith announced that Jon Raymer, formerly bike category manager for the company, has been promoted to the new position of senior marketing manager. Under this new title, Raymer oversees the entirety of Smith’s marketing team, social media, public relations and partnerships with contracted agencies. He will report to Ceroni.Allie Flake is also joining the Smith team as eyewear category manager. She will support, strengthen and grow the sport eyewear and optical channels. She has over a decade of experience in the eyewear industry, having supported product development and Oliver Peoples, Fox Head, ROKA Sports and Costa Del Mar. She reports to Graham Sours, category director at Smith. Finally, Smith announced that Tuomas Kronqvist has been appointed the company’s new CFO, and Ken Salvador has been promoted to senior finance manager.
