RYE BROOK, N.Y.—ReFocus Eye Health, a nationally focused, collaborative health care organization, has promoted director of operations Nisha Bhalla to vice president of operations. In the newly appointed position, Bhalla will continue to lead across all aspects of the company’s strategy and operations, including mergers, acquisitions, business development, leadership, planning, and other executive functions. ReFocus Eye Health, which was founded in 2018, said it takes “a fresh, enlightened approach to health practice ownership and management,” and noted that it acts as “a source of permanent capital” for health practices.

ReFocus invests in ophthalmology and optometric practices exclusively for long-term growth, and the company is listed as a portfolio company of Zenyth Partners

In January, ReFocus acquired Soll Eye, which operates four locations across Pennsylvania and New Jersey, as VMAIL reported

In the promotion announcement, Bhalla said she is “thrilled to continue to expand and grow in my role at ReFocus Eye Health.” She added, “The company’s innovation and expertise has provided an excellent opportunity to contribute. I’m looking forward to my next chapter as vice president of operations.”

Bhalla has more than 10 years combined experience in health care, including merger and acquisitions. Prior to Refocus Eye Health, she was a director at Northwell Health, where she assisted in provider acquisitions across a broad range of specialties, including ENT and ophthalmology.

She also has held senior executive positions at CVS Health, Massachusetts General Hospital and New York Presbyterian Hospital. Additionally, Bhalla has a Master of Business Administration degree from Harvard University, and has participated in Lehman Brothers’ investment banking analyst program.

“Nisha has rapidly advanced as a key executive at ReFocus Eye Health,” chief executive officer Dan Doman said. “She’s a powerful part of our team, and we look forward to her continued participation in our business and success.”
