PORTLAND, Ore.—PECAA, one of the nation’s premier doctor alliance groups, announced the launch of a new program to its membership which is "designed to disrupt and transform a practice’s optical approach to reduce expenses, increase capture rate and drive practice profitability." The program, labeled the Optical Success Initiative, is a three-part program introducing an exclusive PECAA frame line, paired with comprehensive education designed to boost optical sales followed by the sharing of best-practice selling strategies with a community of PECAA peers.

“We are delighted to be launching PECAA’s Optical Success Initiative. Helping members successfully integrate new products and services into their practices is central to PECAA’s mission and the Optical Success Initiative couples our comprehensive education and peer support platforms with high quality product at direct-from-factory prices,” explained Jamie Hughes, senior vice president, PECAA. “The initiative leverages PECAA’s scale and vibrant community to transform optical profitability for members.”

The cost-of-goods for the exclusive top-quality frame line, named InD Eyewear by PECAA, is 70 percent to 80 percent below branded frames. The frame line can only be sold by PECAA members and will not be sold online and therefore, can not be shopped online.

“I am confident that the optical can still drive significant sales increases and expense reductions. By simply changing the way we approach the optical portion of our businesses, we can increase our control of the optical sales process and increase our profitability,” added Lance Anderson, OD, PECAA co-founder and vice president of strategic initiatives.
