Scott Axonovitz
CHICAGO—Opternative Inc., a health care technology company offering online refraction, has named Scott Axonovitz as the company’s first chief revenue officer. He previously spent nearly a decade at CareerBuilder, where he headed up the global enterprise key customer business, according to an Opternative announcement last week. “Scott has a great background in sales and is already proving to be a powerful asset at our company,” Opternative chief executive officer Brent Rasmussen said in the announcement. “We are excited to see the growth trajectory of our company under Scott's direction.” (Rasmussen, who, as VMAIL reported, was named CEO earlier this year, is a former chief operating officer for North America at CareerBuilder).

Earlier in his career, Axonovitz was a co-founder of a national intramural sports and professional networking business, which he sold, according to the announcement. His roles included overseeing the sales, business development, account management and marketing functions.

“I am thrilled to join Opternative during this exciting time in the company's growth,” Axonovitz said in the statement. “Opternative provides a safe, online option for vision testing that is a great addition to every online and brick-and-mortar retailer of contacts and glasses." Axonovitz is a graduate of the University of Cincinnati and holds memberships with several non-profit organizations.

Opternative was founded in 2012 and launched the first online refractive eye test that delivers a physician-issued prescription for glasses or contact lenses. The online test is currently available in 33 states, according to the company’s website.
