FOOTHILL RANCH, Calif.—Oakley has announced a partnership with Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster. Smith-Schuster will be the second football player to partner with Oakley, alongside the Kansas City Chiefs’ Patrick Mahomes II. Smith-Schuster will support Oakley’s new lens technology Prizm, both on and off the field. Oakley says this lens technology dramatically enhances detail and helps improve performance by providing precise color tuning for specific environments, football included. 22-year-old Smith-Schuster attended the University of Southern California and was drafted by the Steelers in the second round of the 2017 NFL Draft.

In 2018, Smith-Schuster had a breakout season, leading the team with 111 receptions and 1,426 receiving yards. He is also an avid gamer and YouTube star.

Smith-Schuster will wear Oakley’s Football Shield with Prizm Clear on the field. Off the field, he will wear a range of Oakley’s lifestyle eyewear, including Frogskins Mix, Sutro and Apparition. He said, “I am laser focused on pushing my performance to the next level and having partners that embody that same thinking is very important to me. I am really excited to be a part of Team Oakley and we will work together to change the game—the sky is the limit.”

Gwen Van Lingen, vice president of sports marketing at Oakley said, “We’re thrilled to welcome such an electric, young player like JuJu to Team Oakley. From his sheer athleticism, dedication and passion to his individuality and energy, he is a perfect fit for the Oakley brand, and we are excited to support him with leading equipment on the field and iconic styles off the field.”
