BLOOMINGTON, Ill.—Keplr Vision, a management organization that offers a comprehensive support platform and advocacy program for eyecare practices, announced Tuesday that it has entered the state of Michigan with its affiliation with “two well-established groups.” They are: Tim Westra of Eye Care One and Dr. Jeffrey Rule of Rule Eye Care. The two practice groups have joined “in strategic partnership with Keplr Vision to create a footprint of 10 practices across western Michigan,” the announcement noted. The terms of the partnerships were not disclosed.

“This initial push into Michigan with these two industry veterans allows for rapid growth across the state,” Keplr Vision chief executive officer Nicholas Williams said in the announcement. “Having the medical depth of Dr. Rule and the operational knowledge of Mr. Westra in the state gives us the base we need to continue to grow across the state.”

Rule Eye Care is medically focused and located in Lansing, Mich.
With its latest partnerships, Keplr Vision now has an affiliation with more than 150 practices across 29 states.

Westra, an industry veteran of over 30 years, has grown Eye Care One from a single location to nine across western Michigan.

“We built a strong team here and being part of something bigger while keeping our roots is the reason we chose to join Keplr Vision,” Westra said. “Our ability to continue to grow our business while being part of Keplr Vision allows our team even more opportunity.”

Added Dr. Rule, “With my passion for diagnosing and treating glaucoma, Keplr Vision’s focus on the medical practice of optometry is why we partnered. By advocating for clinician choice at every level, our doctors have the continued ability to give our patients the best possible care.”

Eye Care One has grown to nine locations in western Michigan.
In addition, Keplr recently launched Keplr Advocacy to advocate for the expansion of full-scope optometric care. The advocacy panel was created to “pursue policy and regulatory changes at the state and federal levels to expand and protect the practice of optometry, allowing Keplr Vision providers to practice the highest level of care while increasing access to the patients that they ultimately serve,” according to Keplr’s announcement at the time, as VMAIL reported.

Keplr Vision brings together private practice optometrists who focus on pushing the practice of optometry forward. Through a collaborative partnership, Keplr Vision offers OD partners robust business support services and supply chain management, allowing doctors to focus on their practice and their patients while retaining their legacy.
