DALLAS—Eyemart Express,  a leading national optical retailer, is expanding into Nebraska with the opening of a new location in Omaha this week. The move will increase the retailer’s footprint to 222 stores in 41 states, according to an announcement. The new store is located on West Dodge Road in Omaha. “The Omaha store opening marks an important milestone for us, at Eyemart Express, as we bring our 30-year legacy of providing accessible and convenient prescription eyewear to customers in Nebraska,” Bill Butler, chief operations officer, said in the announcement. “We strive to be good neighbors by contributing to the local economy, and are proud to be growing and hiring during this unprecedented time.”

The 2,204 square-foot Omaha store will carry more than 2,000 frames and also features an on-site lab so that 90 percent of glasses can be ordered and received on the same day — some in as little as 30 minutes, Eyemart Express said.

Approximately 10 jobs will be created at the new location, ranging from full-time and part-time sales associates to lab technicians and opticians, the retailer said. Eyemart Express offers a variety of training and development programs along with a competitive benefits package for all associates.

Founded in 1990, Eyemart Express ranks among the Top 10 optical retailers in the country – ranked No. 10 on this year’s Vision Monday annual Top 50 ranking with annual sales of $295 million – and its store banners include Vision4Less, Visionmart Express, and Eyewear Express.
