BRIDGEWATER, N.J.—Bausch + Lomb, the eyecare business unit of Bausch Health Companies (NYSE/TSX: BHC) , has promoted Jill Saxon, OD, FAAO, to a new position: executive director, professional strategy, Bausch + Lomb. The move was effective earlier this month. Saxon, who also is a member of the company’s leadership team for U.S. vision care, previously was the company’s senior director, professional strategy. Dr. Saxon joined Bausch + Lomb as the director of professional strategy in 2014. At that time, she had been an independent optometrist at Randolph Eyecare Center, in Randolph, N.J.

Saxon graduated Magna Cum Laude from Muhlenberg College with a Bachelor of Science, and received her Doctor of Optometry degree from the State University of New York, College of Optometry. She began her career as a Lieutenant in the United States Navy and worked at the National Naval Medical Center in Bethesda, Md., where she had the unique opportunity to examine many of the nation’s leaders, elected officials and the brave men and women of the armed forces.

While at the National Naval Medical Center, Saxon distinguished herself as a noted lecturer and was the coordinator of the Optometry School Externship Program. She is a member of the Armed Forces Optometric Society, the New Jersey Society of Optometric Physicians and the American Optometric Association (AOA).
