NEW YORK—Vision Monday is once again surveying optical retailers and large regional ECP groups across the U.S. to be considered for inclusion in the 2020 Annual Top U.S. Optical Retailers Report. Although it’s clear that the business climate is incredibly challenging right now, Vision Monday believes that having important benchmarks about 2019 will be important as the optical sector moves forward to a dramatically different 2020-2021 business environment. Results from the survey will be published in the May 2020 digital and print issue of Vision Monday and posted on VisionMonday.com. The survey and final report are based on revenues for the calendar year ending Dec. 31, 2019.

The survey asks firms to provide total revenues, including sales from both company-owned and franchised stores (if applicable), managed vision care revenues, online sales, and any share of affiliated doctors’ fees or laser-surgery fees that companies receive. Participants are asked to report on all revenues their company derives from optical products and services through locations in the U.S. and Puerto Rico (The report does not include revenues from Canada or other countries outside the U.S.).

The survey info will be directed to VM's Research group and VM's editors. The deadline for completion of the forms is no later than Friday, April 24, 2020. In addition, VM also is planning to create a Top Retail Leaders special report in this Top 50 edition next month as a way to capture sentiments about the coronavirus crisis, leadership suggestions and ideas about the opportunities within the "new normal" the industry will face in the second half of the year and beyond.
