ST. LOUIS—The American Optometric Association has announced that Mark McGrath’s 90’s Experience will headline the closing Celebration of Optometry on Saturday, June 27, 2020 at Optometry’s Meeting 2020. Optometry’s Meeting 2020 will take place between June 24 and June 28, 2020 in National Harbor, Maryland and Washington, D.C. The closing Celebration of Optometry will be held at the Gaylord National Resort & Convention Center in National Harbor, and is sponsored by Hoya Vision Care. In this new show, Mark McGrath, frontman of ‘90s band Sugar Ray, joins forces with drummer Dean Butterworth, of Sugar Ray and Good Charlotte, for a high-energy sing-along show filled with ‘90s hits. McGrath and Butterworth will perform Sugar Ray hits and a variety of covers. In addition, McGrath also hosts his own SiriusXM radio show, "Mark McGrath's 120" on the "'90s on 9" channel, and tours with Sugar Ray on the "I Love the '90s Tour" and "Under the Sun Tour."

McGrath said, “This is my life's work and I'm honored that these songs I wrote have such a connection and meaning to people. No need to ask me how long I'll be doing this, I can't imagine a life without performing these songs, and thankfully they seem to have a timeless quality."

Optometry’s Meeting’s Celebration of Optometry will be a ‘90s-themed party and include a costume contest. McGrath will host the evening, and the event will also feature DJ Cory, the Red Hot Band, interactive '90s entertainment and video arcade, fireworks and more.

Pre-registration for Optometry’s Meeting 2020 is now open. Registration opens in January. More information can be found on the Optometry’s Meeting website.
