DALLAS—AEG Vision, an owner and operator of leading optometry practices, announced that it is among the 2020 CIO 100 Award recipients for innovation in technology. The prestigious CIO 100 Award celebrates 100 organizations and the teams within them that are using IT in innovative ways to deliver business value, whether by creating competitive advantage, optimizing business processes, enabling growth or improving relationships with customers. CIO is the leading content and community resource for information technology executives in today’s fast-paced era of IT transformation in enterprise.

The award is an acknowledged mark of enterprise excellence, according to AEG’s announcement this week.

Founded in March 2017, AEG Vision is a portfolio company of Riata Capital Group and currently operates more than 160 locations operating under different regional brands across 12 states.

In the announcement this week, AEG Vision noted that the group of CIO’s award winners are creating a competitive advantage in their organizations, improving business processes, enabling growth and improving relationships with customers. This year's honorees exemplify what it means to deliver business value through the innovative use of technology.

In 2020, AEG Vision’s technology enhancements covered three key areas:

• Patient engagement: AEG Vision completed development of a best-in-class digital platform to manage the patient life cycle. This platform allows practices to engage with patients through annual exam recall, personalized marketing, a real-time view of available appointment times, product pick-up reminders, and the ability to maximize patient benefits. In 2020, this resulted in improved existing patient retention and NPS scores.

• Operational efficiency: AEG Vision upgraded its technology platforms, including business intelligence, process automation, call center, merchandising, lab support and EHR systems. Today, 80 percent of ongoing operational systems are fully automated. This has further improved the speed/quality of new practice integration and existing practice operational efficiency.

• Employee empowerment: AEG Vision has created an industry-leading dashboard that provides performance metrics and full transparency to the field. At all times, their doctors and staff have access to key performance indicators and historical reports to see trends over time. In 2020, AEG Vision further enhanced customization options and introduced two-way patient texting within the dashboard.
