"2020 has been an especially tough year for our store teams. Between enhanced safety protocols and the emotions of the ever-changing landscape, stores have been forced to navigate multiple challenges. It hasn’t been easy, but doctors, store teams and extended support teams have risen to the occasion. As another tangible thank you and expression of appreciation, we have decided to close all our freestanding stores and support facilities the day before Thanksgiving.... We hope this allows almost the entire National Vision team to enjoy some extra rest and rejuvenation during the Thanksgiving holiday."

Reade Fahs, chief executive officer of National Vision, announcing to employees that they would receive an extra day of vacation as a token of appreciation for their hard work and resilience. He noted that, due to host agreements, stores in host locations will remain open with a small crew. Any team members who work that day will be given an additional day to take off later. Fahs thanked the entire National Vision team for conducting itself in "such an impressive and admirable manner during this most challenging of years.”
