NEW YORK—Tickets are still available for Rockin’ for New Eyes, the annual rock ‘n’ roll fundraiser in support of New Eyes for the Needy. The popular show, which will take place at the Hard Rock Café in Times Square on March 23, features volunteer performers from throughout the optical industry and is a highlight of Vision Expo week.

Corporate support, the main source of revenue for the fund-raiser, is on the rise, according to show organizers. They are aiming to top the $217,000 raised at last year’s show for New Eyes for the Needy, a charity that supplies new eyewear to needy children and adults, free of charge.

This year’s show will have a ’60s theme, complete with lights, decorations, costumes, live music and dancing to conjure up the spirit of the era. “Last year’s St. Paddy’s day theme went so well that we decided that as this is the 50th anniversary of Woodstock we need to embrace the ’60s wholeheartedly,” said Bob Stein, chief philanthropic and managed care development officer for National Vision, the premier sponsor of Rockin’ for New Eyes. “Our goal this year is to create a night of all-out fun wrapped inside a 1960s costume party. Costumes are not required, but everyone is invited to join the fun.”

As in prior years, National Vision is sponsoring free tickets for up to 250 student optometrists. Details on tickets for student optometrists available will be announced soon, Stein said.

Rockin’ for New Eyes tickets can be purchased at https://www.shopneweyes.org/tickets/rfne-2019-general-admission-ticket.

Online ticket purchases are available through Friday, March 22, up until 5:00 p.m. After that, they can be purchased at Hard Rock Café on March 23 beginning at 8:00 p.m. General admission tickets are $50 for entry to the event. VIP tickets are $250 and include open bar, light food and access to private area. The show begins at 8:30 p.m.
