NEW YORK—With March comes the start of spring, longer days, and Women’s History Month. As this month, dedicated to celebrating and honoring women’s history, kicks off, the optical world is celebrating too. In fact, women's history and the optical world are closely intertwined and the number of women ODs in practice has been steadily rising over the past 10 years, according to polls from Women In Optometry. In the fall of 2019, VM reported that 7 out of 10 students entering optometry school were women—making optometry part of women's futures, as well.

This week we’re taking a look at how independent ECPs and designers are celebrating women in the optical business, from CEOs to customers and everything in between.
