ALEXANDRIA, Va.—National Sunglasses Day 2022 is coming up on June 27 and The Vision Council, co-organizer of Vision Expo, is reminding its members and the industry at large to participate and help celebrate that day and to reinforce the importance of wearing ultraviolet (UV)-protective sunwear and eyewear. Eyewear and sunwear companies, optical retailers and eyecare professionals can check the National Sunglasses Day website for access to complimentary marketing materials, including ready-to-use logos, social media images, sample posts, downloadable posters, web banners and more to support National Sunglasses Day efforts.

The Vision Council asks, as organizations solidify plans for National Sunglasses Day on June 27 to keep the following in mind:
 
1. Keep The Vision Council in the loop on your plans. Please share your organization’s plans for National Sunglasses Day with Hayley Rakus, senior communications manager, at hrakus@thevisioncouncil.org.

2. Take advantage of The Vision Council’s official marketing collateral materials. Don’t forget to access The Vision Council’s online portal—via NationalSunglassesDay.com—for ready-to-use materials, web banners and more.

3. Post on your social media channels using the official hashtags, #SunglassesSelfie and #NationalSunglassesDay and tag @TheVisionCouncil on Facebook and Instagram and @OpticalIndustry on Twitter.

4. The Vision Council also encourages eyecare providers to engage their patients in discussions about healthy vision maintenance including the impact of UV eye exposure and the breadth of UV-protective eyewear options that are available.
