NEW PROVIDENCE, N.J.—Prism Vision Group, (PVG), a large vertically integrated eyecare services organization operating on the East Coast, said it has added Seidenberg Protzko Eye Associates (SPEA) to its management services platform. SPEA is an eight-physician practice with five locations—including a surgery center—in Northeast Maryland. The terms of the new partnership were not disclosed in the group’s recent announcement. Prism Vision Group is a portfolio company of the private equity firm Quad-C Management, according to the investment group’s website. The initial investment dates to 2018.

The SPEA practice provides full-service comprehensive eyecare with subspecialties that include cataract and refractive surgery, dry eye, glaucoma, specialty contact lens fittings and aesthetics. In addition, SPEA is affiliated with the Pennsylvania College of Optometry at Salus University as an accredited teaching facility with an Optometric Residency and Student Externship program and is an active site for clinical research studies, the announcement noted.

Dr. Steven Madreperla, president and CEO of Prism Vision Group, said, “We are excited to welcome the doctors and team of SPEA to Prism as we continue our mid-Atlantic expansion. Their clinical reputation and extensive presence in the Northeast Maryland area will complement our strategy to be America’s premier independent, integrated eyecare organization.”

According to the Prism announcement, the organization is the largest vertically integrated independent ophthalmology administrative services organization on the East Coast, serving 80 locations with 150 providers. The group has more than 1,100 employees throughout New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Delaware, Virginia, Maryland and the District of Columbia.

In addition, Prism is a physician-led organization with a mission to support ophthalmology practices in providing patients with world-class, comprehensive eyecare.
