NEW YORK—While many eyecare practices use the internet to help inform their patients, individual ECPs have taken to telling their own stories and sharing professional perspectives via blogs, vlogs and Instagram accounts. Three years ago, Amorette Hanna, OD, owner of RDU Family Vision in Morrisville, North Carolina, started her Eyecing on the Cake blog, which features the unlikely combo of eyes and cupcakes. Wannabe artist Hanna says writing blog posts and sharing her eye-inspired cupcakes works well as a creative outlet. And it doesn’t hurt that she can also educate the public about eye health.

This week’s #WeShareIt comes straight from "Stranger Things" actress Millie Bobby Brown’s Instagram page. The young starlet hit the red carpet for the #TeenChoiceAwards last week and cemented herself as a teen fashionista. Millie wore a yellow Kenzo dress, Pierre Hardy sandals and finished off her look with some ultra-cool Chrome Hearts frames.

‘Friday Night Out’ in Salisbury: Craft Beer, Squirrels and Oh Yes, Eyewear

Salisbury, N.C.—This month, Salisbury Eyecare and Eyeware proved that one of the best ways to get involved in the community is to serve some cold beer. The eyecare boutique took part in Downtown Salisbury’s Summer Sip, a part of the town’s monthly Friday Night Out tradition. The fun event drew plenty of potential clients into their office and raised awareness of their relatively new practice.
