Mark Ginsberg.

NEW YORK—Mark Ginsberg, chief marketing officer of VSP Global has been named the Accessories Council’s “Hall of Fame” 2017 honoree.

Ginsberg was appointed chief marketing officer of VSP Global in January 2016 and leads the organization’s global marketing strategy to deliver its products and services to a diverse worldwide client base. Prior to that, Ginsberg served as senior vice president of global marketing at Marchon.

According to the Council, Ginsberg will be honored at a special Hall of Fame event on Nov. 15, immediately following the Accessories Council’s Third Annual Summit, to be held earlier that day at Hearst Towers here.

Accessories Council president, Karen Giberson, told VMail, “Our Hall of Fame happens on occasions where we can recognize our industry’s leaders and agents of change. Mark’s impressive career in the accessory industry has ranged from Fossil to Marchon and now VSP Global. He has a deep passion and concern for the best interests of the industry and we are proud to honor his commitment to excellence.”

She added, “The Accessories Council feels the optical industry is one of the key categories in our eclectic mix of product areas. We have been dedicated to including optical and eyewear topics in our education sessions, student awards (such as Next Generation), and have highlighted many brands and individuals. Our previous Hall of Fame honorees have included Jobson’s Marge Axelrad and 20/20 Magazine, as well as Ed Jankowski (then of Solstice). At our ACE Awards, we have recognized such brands and individuals as Ray-Ban, Robert Marc, Oliver Peoples, Warby Parker, Marchon’s Al Berg and Claudio Gottardi and, coming up later this year at our Aug. 7 event, Polaroid Eyewear.”

The Accessories Council serves the $50 billion a year accessories industry. More details on the upcoming Hall of Fame event, the ACE Awards and the Accessories Council Summit are available at info@accessoriescouncil.org.
