PALM SPRINGS, Fla.—Stanton Optical, a unit of Vision Precision Holdings, continues its expansion in Texas with the opening of two new locations this month, according to a company announcement. One of the new stores is opening in the Sunland area of El Paso, and another new optical store is opening in Killeen, Texas. Both stores are set to open in April, according to the announcement. The new locations are Stanton’s 11th and 12th optical units in Texas, and raise the Stanton Optical total location count to 73 across the nation as of this month. Both new Texas stores will include an on-site lab that offers customers an opportunity to receive their prescription glasses within 15 minutes, the announcement noted.

Daniel Stanton, a co-founder of both Stanton Optical and sister company My Eyelab, told VMAIL in an interview earlier this year that the company would focus its expansion efforts in 2018 on the Texas, California and North Carolina markets. Parent company Vision Precision Holdings ranked as the 18th largest optical retailer in the U.S. at the end of 2016, with estimated sales of just under $90 million and 55 eyecare locations, according to Vision Monday’s Top 50 U.S. Optical Retailers report.

Founded in 2006, Stanton Optical has become a leading retailer in eye health and eyewear “by developing an accessible alternative to overpriced eyecare services,” according to the company. Stanton said it works “directly with designer eyewear manufacturers and equips a majority of its stores with optical labs that produce quality prescription eyeglasses in as little as 15 minutes.” The stores feature more than 3,000 frames and several brands of contact lenses.
