Latest News Women In Optometry Launches Revamped Website By Staff Friday, May 20, 2016 12:15 AM NEW YORK—Women In Optometry recently launched its redesigned website, www.womeninoptometry.com. The newly designed, photo-rich website allows for easy navigation and a mobile-optimized version enables quicker loading on mobile devices. “WO launched its first website two years ago, and in that time, we have posted nearly 400 stories featuring women ODs and about the issues that are important to women,” WO editor Marjolijn Bijlefeld said. The revamped website includes efficient subpages under the top menu tabs, a Professional Editors’ Corner section featuring advice and strategies from co-editors April Jasper, OD, FAAO, and Katie Gilbert-Spear, OD, MPH as well as a variety of stories on office design and its impact on business under the Physical Space subpage under the Models of Practice tab. Additionally, the website organizes stories by categories and themes, such as Mode of Practice and Outside Interests, and a special section under the Growth Strategies tab which highlights stories related to WO sponsors. “WO magazine and the website have become the premier platform for voices of women in the profession today,” Dr. Gilbert-Spear said. Dr. Jasper added, “It’s very professional, yet still fun. The articles and design reflect the idea that we are doctors, dedicated to our practices and patients, and also people who want to enjoy our professional careers and personal lives.”
