NEW YORK—Warby Parker
has launched Warby Parker for Kids in what it describes as a 12-week pilot in the company’s eight New York City stores. This is the first time Warby is offering kids frames for purchase. They’re geared to boys and to girls in two sizes, described as Jr. (for kids 8 years and up) and Jr. Jr. (for kids 4 to 7). The company said the collection would be “scaled-down versions of our favorite existing frames, using the same high-quality materials as our adult frames, all for $95.”
The announcement also said, “With their parents, kids can try on the collection and purchase in-store and have the frames shipped to their home (nationwide) or swing by and pick them up in-person.”
In addition, every pair of kids frames purchased during the pilot will support Warby Parker’s Pupils Project
program, announced over a year ago, which provides free vision screenings, eye exams and glasses to children at New York City's Community Schools.
As of now, Warby Parker operates a total of 62 retail locations in the U.S. and two locations in Toronto, Canada, a spokesperson told VMAIL
