PARIS—French eyewear company, Vuarnet, announced that the brand recently received the Entreprise du Patrimoine Vivant (EPV) which is awarded to companies that exhibit “superior craftsmanship and industrial excellence.”

Established in 2005, the EPV is awarded by the French state and recognizes companies that “reconcile tradition and innovation, know-how and creation, work and passion, heritage and the future, the local and the international.”

“It is a special honor to receive the Entreprise du Patrimoine Vivant as we celebrate our 60th Anniversary,” said Lionel Giraud, CEO of Vuarnet. “Vuarnet is proud of our French heritage and remains committed to innovation while delivering excellence in design and manufacturing.”

Vuarnet’s factory housed outside of Paris produces the mineral lenses the company is known for. Using a process that requires 17 manufacturing steps, the process is interspersed with strict testing. Each lens is engraved with a tiny V on a ski, as a guarantee of its authenticity.

While Vuarnet introduces new styles each season they also continue to manufacture their iconic styles loved by generations of wearers.
