NEW YORK—Vision Monday’s associate editor, Jamie Wilson and assistant editor, Stephanie Sengwe will be hosting a Pop Up Talk titled, “Independents A to Z: A Guide to Standing Out on Main Street,” at Vision Expo East. The Talk will take place on March 16, from 11 to 11:30 AM in the Galleria Lounge. The panel will include Ruth Domber, co-founder of 10/10 Optics and Karen Freidus, co-founder of Center Stage Optique. Domber is passionate about the transformative powers of eyewear, with a positive energy that has been a key force behind the success of 10/10 Optics, and a reason why her patients have been coming back for more than 30 years.

Along with her husband, Karen Freidus created the Broadway-themed, Center Stage Optique, located on the border of the Chelsea/West Village neighborhoods in Manhattan. As the main buyer and frame stylist, Freidus gets to use her keen eye for fashion and love of personal interaction and sales to find her customers the perfect frames in a fun environment.

Inspired by the ever-changing retail landscape, the talk will host an intimate panel of independent retailers to discuss their do’s, don’ts and unique tips of running an independent retail location and forging a distinct identity and experience on Main Street.

VM’s Pop Up Talk is part of a series open to all Vision Expo East attendees. Among these are a Pop Up from 20/20 Magazine’s James J. Spina, VP/editor-in-chief along with his editorial team of Christine Yeh, executive editor; Victoria Garcia, senior associate editor; and Jillian Urcelay, associate editor, who will present “Seeing Eye to Eye” on March 16 from 2 to 2:30 PM in the Galleria Lounge.
