ATLANTA—The Association of Optometrists (AOP) and SECO International (SECO) have partnered with the Armed Forces Optometric Society (AFOS) to present Therapeutics London 2018, an optometric continuing education and training (CET) conference focusing on therapeutics, being held Sept. 23 to 24, 2018. The Therapeutics London partnership began in 2012 with the AOP and SECO and continues to grow, becoming one of the most popular optometric conferences in London, the organizations said in a joint announcement. “It is our seventh year producing this meeting in partnership with SECO International, and we are pleased to welcome the Armed Forces Optometric Society to the team for 2018,” said Dr. Ian Beasley, AOP Head of Education.

This year’s program features more than 10 hours of COPE and CET credit from a variety of speakers on topics key to therapeutics through lectures, workshops and peer to peer discussion. The program includes two U.S.-based speakers provided by SECO and AFOS. Leonard V. Messner, OD will deliver three lectures on Mind-Bending Neuro-oph Grand Rounds Parts 1 & 2 and The Non-Glaucomatous Optic Neuropathies Papilledema and Idiopathic Intracranial Hypertension IIH. In addition, Abraham Suhr, MD will speak on Glaucoma Old and New.

“SECO International takes very seriously our mission of providing exceptional optometric education around the world, and the Therapeutics London meeting is a key part of that mission,” said Dr. Emilio Balius, SECO president. “SECO is proud to help provide this opportunity to learn and earn CE while traveling to one of the world’s great cities.”

A special registration offer is available for SECO and AFOS members. The offer includes meeting registration and two nights stay at the host hotel, the Holiday Inn Bloomsbury.

“AFOS has a long-standing relationship with SECO and we are excited to build a relationship with the AOP as well,” said Dr. Lindsay Wright, Executive Director of AFOS. “We are pleased to offer our members stationed in Europe the opportunity to earn crucial CE at a meeting of this quality.”
