Bruce Bartley
ALEXANDRIA, Va.—The Vision Council announced that Bruce Bartley will be honored by the Sunglass and Reader Division for this lifelong commitment and contributions to the optical industry. Bartley will be presented with the award during the Sunglass and Reader Division reception at the INK48 Hotel Press Lounge on Friday, March 16 in New York City. Bartley began his career in optical in 1977 with Renauld Sunglasses, a division of Foster Grant. He went on to work at Bonneau Sunglases and Riviera Sunglasses before working at Roberts Sunglasses (which later became Lantis Eyewear) for 22 years.

For the last 10 years, Bartley was the president of Icon Eyewear, a privately held sunglass and readers company. He was an active member of the Sunglass Association of America (SAA), then the Sunglass and Reader Division of The Vision Council, for more than 25 years. In April 2017, after 40 years in the eyewear business, he retired in Kennebunkport, Maine with his wife, Linda.
